Beginners & Novice Paddlers

(or previous paddlers but wanting to join our introduction session)

Adults, Juniors and families are all very welcome to join us for an introduction event at a cost of £10 per person. These sessions are ran periodically usually around April to October and are scheduled around other club events and instructor availability, whilst also ensuring there is sufficient space in the club for new members. Please see below for any currently scheduled days.

The Introduction event will introduce you to our club and its committee and allow you to try three different craft (Kayak, Canoe and Stand-Up-Paddleboard). Complete beginers through to experienced paddlers are welcome to this event.

Upon successful completion you will be awarded a British Canoeing Paddle Start Award and can attend the club as a free trial member for 30 days to see if you like what we offer. During this period, you only pay for the sessions that you book onto. (see our fees page). If you wish to continue paddling with us on any further sessions or events after this period, you may then join us as an adult, junior or family membership.

Experienced Paddlers

If you have a British Canoeing ‘Explore’ award (or equivalent/higher) along with reasonable paddling experience and wish to Join, we may be able to invite you to an individual session on a trial basis. Invites would be based upon our coach and session availability for your preferred craft but we would try to accommodate as soon as is feasible. During April-October, we would encourage you to join via an introduction session as above however if it is Winter or you’d simply prefer to join via this route then please add your details to our list which will then be reviewed and somebody will get in touch.

If you have any questions then please in the first instance see our FAQ’s and then if not answered, drop us an email and we’ll happily help.
