Membership Fees
Overview
The membership fees are reviewed annually by the committee and reflects the cost of running the club which includes, but is not limited to, the following: affiliations, insurance, compulsory training, and required disbursements costs. All club officials including committee and the clubs coaching and leadership team are volunteers who thankfully offer their time for free. Club officials also pay themselves for their own Paddle UK membership, club membership and session fees accordingly so we feel that our fees really are very good value.
The annual (12 Month) membership levels are currently:
| Adult membership. | Individuals aged 18 or over (at the date of their annual subscription start) | £25 per person |
| Junior membership. | Individuals under the age of 18 (at the date of their annual subscription start) | £12.50 per person |
| Family membership. | Up to two adults and three juniors resident at the same address. | £60 per Family |
The 12 month membership period is based upon your individual start date.
New members, once joined, must come along to for an introduction session. Following completion of the introduction session, you will be able to book onto our regular member sessions and events. Some more advanced events or trips may need further Paddle UK awards or skillsets which you can attain through the club. Following the Introduction (also known as induction) Session, members will be on a one month trial before becoming a full member which usually happens automatically to allow participation in further events. During this one month period, if the club is not for you then that’s fine, you can terminate your membership and we will refund the annual membership minus the usual introduction session cost of £10.
Each session/event has a fee which is required before the events attendance. Club events are organised and communicated via our members portal and email.
Your initial introduction session has no additional cost, it is included in your first years membership and includes kit.
The regular session fees are the same for Adults and Juniors, per session, as below

Trip fees
There is no club charge for trips, if however you need to borrow any kit then there will be a donation fee of £5, depending on the trip there may be additional fees such as parking and if on Waterways such as canals then you may need a permit if you’re not a British Canoeing Member or waterways license holder, the events coordinator will be able to advise accordingly.
Our events calendar can be viewed in our Members area and it is important that the email address you provide on the registration system is checked regularly because we advertise all our events through email (Event notification opt-in is required). We also have a public Facebook page and instagram page where we post general club information/pictures. In addition, we have a private Facebook Group that our members can become a member of once they are an annual member, which we share more details on events, trips and club activities. We also allow parents of junior members to join this private group. Peer group events are advertised there and reminders about club events that have been advertised via email are also commonly seen.
